It’s New Year’s Eve and hopes are high

Dance one year in, kiss one goodbye

It’s been a great year, with wonderful highs, including Big D’s Inky the Mouse, Spring sun in St Lucia, Halloween fun in Fulham, wonderful weddings in Rye and St Tropez, surfing in Jersey and of course launching my blog and feeling all your wonderful support.

For Little D, it has been a year of firsts – first steps, first words, first swim, first ice-cream… I love the amazing first-ness of it all.

My little lushes have restored for me the magic of Christmas and I’ve had such fun. From carol concerts to panto, parties to presents  it’s been such a joy. Precious time with friends and family has been the highlight. We’ve overdosed on that gingerbread feeling – so it’s time to ring in the New Year and reset the clock, fresh starts, new beginnings, new hopes and exciting times lie ahead.

I already have that slight sinking feeling that comes when the yuletide festivities give way to the drudgery of January. But not before one great big party tonight. Auntie H got a lucky last minute (yesterday) reservation at Sexy Fish – which looks so much fun!

I have two little New Year’s resolutions: (1) to be able to do the splits; and (2) to give up sugar in my tea (both rather unachievable (I hope))! I’d love to grow the blog, but that’s not a resolution as such, more a commitment to put more time in next year and a hope that you all keep reading.

2016 is shaping up to be another big year. My sister is due to have her second baby in March, Big D has her school assessments coming up and Little D is about to come of age and start nursery – and that’s all just in Q1! I love that with children each year, in fact each day, is punctuated with so many milestones and memories.

If a touch sentimental and sad, this SATC scene really sums up NYE.

However you’ve chosen to ring in the New Year, have a wonderful night and I hope tomorrow morning isn’t too tough when those little ones call.

Thank you so much for reading and supporting my blog in its infancy this year, and I can’t wait to continue to grow this wonderful community in 2016.

See you on the other side!

Love Mummy B
