Pretty Little Parka

Pretty Little Parkafeatured

We have had such a mild Autumn this year it’s been a treat to make the transition to a different season without really having to worry about coating up, until now!

I love getting all wrapped up in the Winter and going for walks with the girls. I notice I spend a lot longer outside in the colder months than I used to back in the (baby-free) day, so I need the right gear to do my job of chief Pavement Pounder, Pram Pusher and Park Marshall extraordinaire. Come rain, frost or snow, I’ll be there in the elements.

As you’ll have guessed by now, Mummy B likes nice things (although can’t always have them), and with fashion I think there are times to GO BIG with an “investment” purchase, occasionally. A good Winter coat ticks this box – it is essential. Price per wear plays an important part here and quality comes at a price. I’m married to a lawyer, so I’ve mastered the art of putting a good case forward!

I’ve featured three brands that I love from high-street to high-end to give you a little inspiration.  All of these coats would provide the perfect staple for your Winter mummy uniform and keep you looking hot whatever the conditions.

Aunty H is a fan of the Woolrich parka. She often pairs hers with skinny’s and Ash high tops, which I have to say looks Scandi cool! All these styles are available online at Mummy B’s go-to shop Katie & Jo.

Black Parka £600.00

Blue/Black Parka £695.00

Military Eskimo Coat £780.00

I love a little look in Whistles and can always find something in there for a night out, but I’ve never thought much of their outer-wear to date. This year I think they’ve got the best the high-street has to offer when it comes to parkas, and they’re priced at the same level as some of their jumpers! Also their faux fur looks fab!

Marley Waxy Parka £170.00

Wool Mix Parker £225.00

Harris Padded Parka £180.00

My high end pick is Moncler, a super-luxe French-Italian outerwear brand that used to be reserved for the stylish slopes, but is now commonly seen being sported around London. This is my go-to brand for the perfect chic off duty parka. Three seasons on and my puffy little parka still looks the bomb despite being crumpled up under prams, thrown down slides and worn every day of Winter. They’re extremely expensive but a fab investment (price per wear wise helps me to justify this guilty purchase). Amortized over time(!), my coat has been great value and it still feels special every time I wear it. All these styles are available at Matches online.

Fabre Quilted Down Jacket £920.00

Arriete Fur-Trimmed Parka £1320.00

Genevriette Quilted Down Coat £1070.00

While browsing the virtual clothes rails I also saw some great styles from Topshop, Zara and Poppy London, Poppy London is shown in the featured image at the top of this post. This fab fluoro raccoon fur collar parka will make a statement at the school gates, priced at £599.00.  Mr & Mrs Italy and Mackage also have some lovely coats.  It’s important to keep your cool while keeping cozy.

Happy Shopping.
