It’s hard not to be awestruck by Celia Monoz, founder of Spanish children’s clothing brand La Coqueta. This mother of 5 is quite the multi-tasking marvel. Upon giving birth to her fifth child she decided that, if she wanted to make her dream of creating her own children’s label a reality, it was now or never. Her dream quickly became her success.
La Coqueta is her sixth child and has been born out of a love of traditional, timeless fashion for children. Having clothed five little people, this wonder woman knows how important quality and functionality is without compromising the fact that there’s something special in giving lovely little people beautiful clothes that can be passed down through siblings and even generations.
Taking inspiration from old family photographs and her sartorially stylish children this beautiful brand is not to be missed. I’ve always said the Spanish have a way of dressing their children that is so understated yet so noticeably smart. I love it when children are dressed like children.
La Coqueta’s range is all proudly made in Spain but the boutique is nestled in North London. But fear not if you’re not hanging around Hampstead, their website is a pleasure. Celia has put together carefully crafted looks to help the time poor turn their little ones into mini fashionistas in one click and, with it being silly sale season, there’s never been a better time to give your kids’ wardrobe a Summer spruce.
Here are some of my favorite looks from the current collection.
