Nutcracker outfits for Christmas

Nutcracker outfits for Christmasfeatured

It’s beginning to look rather a lot like Christmas. Daddy B’s collecting the Christmas tree this weekend, and I’m so excited I could literally burst about decking the halls.

We’re hosting Christmas this year for the first time ever, which feels like a major coming-of (a-certain) -age milestone for Mummy B.

My parents will join the fray. I have a lot to live up to – as my mother has always served up a wonderful Christmas at her home in Suffolk.

I try to be organised and get all the planning done early so I can enjoy the champagne season in style. This year promises to be especially special, as both girls are at an age where they can see a show, go candle-lit caroling and I’m thrilled to be taking them to Lapland UK.

This year, I went to the Spirit of Christmas Fair to get in the mood early and for inspo on gifts and decorations. Here I stumbled across a new find ‘Start Smart‘, who sell very traditional childrens’ wear.

We Bissons love to get dressed up on Christmas Day and to treat it as a real party. Getting the girls styled is one of the highlights of the day. So here’s a glimpse of what the Bissonettes will be wearing this Christmas day.

I adore these wonderfully festive, Nutracker inspired, dresses.  The gold detailing teamed with the luxurious red velvet is perfect. That dipped hem creates a little train and the netting petticoat elevates the dresses and makes them feel extra special. I just know the girls will love rocking around the Christmas tree in their fabulous frocks.

Every party dress needs perfect party shoes and a trip to our favourite shoe shop Papouelli means you’re spoiled for choice. They have party shoes fit for a princess. It’s very easy to see why this super-sweet brand has a royal stamp of approval! The quality is there and after being burnt buying some shoe for little D from the high street recently that fell apart after five wears I’ve remembered the old truth: buy cheap buy twice!

The shopping experience at Papouelli is always a joy and the girls love leaving the boutique with a butterfly printed balloon. As they get older, they like to have their input, so Big D chose these wonderful black velvet Avery slippers which I adore. Velvet is everywhere this party season and is so timeless.

Little D picked these stylish t-bar camel patent Mila shoes because she loved their gold appearance. Little D loves shoes and can be quite particular, so I was delighted we had a meeting of minds.

Then for the finishing touch, that final flourish of flair. It’s all about accessorising and my darling friend Emma (one half of Glammrags), makes the sweetest hair bows and slides and these sparkly reindeer clips are perfect for adding that little bit of sparkle to the whole outfit.

So the look is complete. My (nutty) nutcrackers shall go to the ball. Now I just need to figure out how to cook that perfect Christmas roast!

Love Mummy B
