Mummy B’s top holiday picks for families

Mummy B’s top holiday picks for familiesfeatured

There are so many beautiful places in the world to visit, and the online options are never-ending, I sometimes feel a little over-faced picking a holiday.  Traveling with the family there are so many factors that need to be taken into account, so many tick boxes, to make it enjoyable for everyone.  Here are my four luxury holiday destinations that will not disappoint.

Borgo Egnazia, Italy

Borgo Egnazia is hailed as one of the Mediterranean’s most luxurious hotels and it’s easy to see why. Set in 20 hectares along the Puglian Coast of Southern Italy, this stunningly stylish hotel would be my dream destination. There’s a brilliant kids club taking little ones from 8 months’ upwards and evening entertainment put on until 10pm, giving you the option to have a little “us” time, whether that be relaxing by the pool, pampering in the spa, playing a round of golf on their 18 hole golf course, or just sitting enjoying a glass of Italian wine.

Daios Cove, Crete

According to lucky friends who had a wonderful time staying here with their little boy, Daios Cove in Crete is a  great family-friendly getaway. With its own sandy beach and spacious villas, 129 of which have their own pool, it’s perfect for families needing multiple rooms, and for multiple families holidaying together but wanting to have their own accommodation. If your little ones are not too worn out by all that splashing about, there’s a UK run kids club taking babies from 4 months old and an aquatic club for the older teens.

Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa

I married a surfer, so this resort has been high up on Daddy B’s bucket list for some time. But the fear of such a long-haul flight has put me off. But who could resist the allure of the Maldives for long? The Four Seasons know how to take the heavy lifting out of traveling with a family – their concierge service provides you with anything you need for your stay, from a stroller, nappies to a beach tent to keep your little ones protected from the sun. Children from the age of 6 can learn to surf in the tropic surf club and my husband will be at one with the ocean enjoying the nearby championship break. One day!!!

Martinhal, Portugal

For those looking for adventure closer to home the Martinhal, Algarve appears to offer it all. This family orientated resort has a plethora of activities for all the family, from windsurfing to paddle boarding, creche to teens club, it promises to keep everyone happy and busy. But if busy isn’t what you are looking for, then relaxing on the golden sand beach or sunning yourself by the pool might be just the tonic your looking for.

Happy holidays to all of you. I hope you are enjoying the summer break with your little ones.
